At ROMA12, we believe strong relationships create better outcomes for young people.
As a Care Practitioner, you will provide practical and emotional support to young people across our Emergency Accommodation and Residential Care services.
You will help create a safe, stable and respectful environment where each young person feels heard, supported and valued.
You do not need to know everything about residential care before you apply. We are looking for people with the right attitude, strong values and a genuine interest in working with young people.
Our services
ROMA12 provides opportunities to work across.
- Emergency Accommodation, supporting young people in short-term hotel or commercial accommodation placements.
- Residential Care, supporting young people in longer-term home-based placements.
Emergency Accommodation can provide an entry point into the sector. Care Practitioners may have opportunities to progress into Residential Care as they build experience, complete required training and demonstrate readiness for the role.

What you will do
- Build safe and respectful relationships with young people.
- Support young people with daily routines, meals, appointments and activities.
- Encourage young people to make positive choices and work towards their goals.
- Respond calmly when young people feel upset, frustrated or overwhelmed.
- Maintain clear professional boundaries.
- Work closely with other Care Practitioners and leaders.
- Complete clear and accurate shift notes and incident reports.
- Follow each young person’s care plan, safety plan and support strategies.
- Participate in training, supervision and team development
Previous experience in youth work, disability support, community services, education, sport, hospitality, security or customer service may help, but it is not essential.

Employment type
This is a casual position based in Ipswich.
Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, public holidays and overnight work.
