Summary of the role:
The primary role of a Quality Technician is to ensure that products meet the established quality standards before they are released to customers. The role will be responsible for conducting various tests and inspections throughout the supply chain process to ensure they comply with company standards.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Utilise testing equipment and tools to perform physical and functional tests on incoming goods, and customer returns by confirming to drawings & specifications, conducting visual tests and rejecting unacceptable materials.
- Identify and report defects or non-conforming products.
- Support the return of products to the supplier, and organise in-house repair, rework or scrap as required.
- Forklift Operation & Manual Material Handling.
- Document and report on inspection results and maintain accurate records of tests conducted.
- Control inventory within Quality department to ensure accuracy, communication and timely return of tested product to the warehouse.
- Participate & assist in quality audits and provide inputs in the development of quality control procedures.
- Segregate and label items as required. Maintain 5S in the Incoming Quality Area.
- Participate in team meetings & sending out daily reports.
- Suggest process or product enhancements.
- Support other QA staff as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Attention to detail
- Forklift Licence
- Familiarity with drawings and tolerances
- Use of measuring instruments, calipers, micrometres, gauges, etc.
- Basic computer/data entry skills.
