You will do more than manage diaries and format documents. You will be a critical member of the team, driving our modern specialist Family Law firm forward. 

At Delaney Roberts Specialist Family Lawyers, our Legal Assistants work proactively alongside experienced family lawyers to deliver exceptional client experiences, support efficient matter management and help create smarter ways of working. 

We are looking for a confident and proactive Legal Assistant to join our Sydney team. This role will suit someone who enjoys working closely with high-performing Solicitors, embraces technology and systems, thinks ahead and takes genuine pride in helping a team operate at its best.

Work in a Modern Legal Support Role 

Our Legal Assistants are trusted to contribute far beyond traditional administrative support. You will work proactively with your Solicitors to: 

  • manage workflows and priorities,  
  • draft correspondence and legal documents using strong precedents,  support efficient matter management,  contribute to Smart Operating Procedures and continuous improvement, and  
  • help create a calm, organised and highly responsive client experience  

You will be supported by strong systems, workflows and precedents that help our teams deliver high-quality work efficiently and consistently.  

We are looking for someone who enjoys thinking ahead, solving problems and helping busy Solicitors perform at their best. 

Be Supported by a Broader Team 

While this role is based in Sydney, you will be part of a broader legal support team across both our Sydney and Newcastle offices. 

You will receive structured onboarding, training and ongoing support from both your Solicitor Team Leader and Legal Support Team Leader. Collaboration and knowledge sharing are important parts of how we work.  We are focused on crating a workplace where high standards and sustainable performance can co-exist.

About You 

You are confident, organised and proactive. You enjoy working in a fast-paced professional environment and take pride in delivering work to a high standard. 

You will ideally bring: 

  • 3 + years’ experience in a legal assistant or legal administration role within a law firm,  
  • experience in family law or another fast-paced litigation environment, 
  • strong attention to detail and organisational skills, 
  • confidence managing documents, diaries, client communication and workflows,  
  • strong technology skills and the ability to quickly learn legal systems and processes  
  • experience using Microsoft Office and legal practice management systems; ideally LEAP, 
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and  
  • a calm, polished and professional approach with clients.
