About the Role
As our Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering accurate, timely and insightful financial information across a dynamic multi-entity group. This is a hands-on and high-impact role where you will not only ensure financial integrity and compliance, but also actively contribute to improving reporting processes, strengthening controls, and supporting better business decision-making through high-quality analysis and data-driven insights. You will work closely with a high-performing finance team in an environment that values curiosity, problem-solving and continuous improvement, where your ability to work with complex data, apply strong analytical thinking, and use advanced Excel skills will directly influence outcomes and help shape smarter ways of working across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Producing accurate and timely month-end reporting, including meaningful analysis, insights and commentary
- Leading the annual audit process, tax return preparation and statutory financial reporting
- Developing and maintaining Excel-based reporting and analysis in a predominantly manual systems environment
- Managing balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, intercompany transactions and general ledger integrity
- Supporting accounts payable processes and ensuring robust financial controls are maintained
- Managing group bank and corporate card accounts including reconciliations, cash flow forecasts, account transfers and facilities
- Managing taxation and compliance obligations including BAS, Income Tax, FBT and other statutory requirements
- Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve reporting
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members while contributing to a collaborative team culture
About You
- CA or CPA qualification and a degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
- Experience in a similar Senior Financial Accountant role within a multi-entity environment
- Advanced Excel skills and a genuine passion for working with data
- Experience working with large data sets and exposure to Power BI or similar reporting tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the curiosity to investigate issues and identify opportunities for improvement
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the confidence to engage with stakeholders across all levels of the business
- A proactive approach, positive attitude and desire to continually improve processes and outcomes
- The ability to balance technical accuracy with commercial thinking
