Summary:
Work Experience Placements are available at Rise & Shine Kindergarten centres and are designed to provide valuable opportunities for individuals seeking to gain practical experience in the education and training sector.
This position offers students a temporary working environment to develop their skills, contribute to the organisation, and enhance their post studies employability in a supportive setting.
Responsibilities:
- Support educators in delivering high-quality education and care to children, including assisting with daily routines such as meals, rest times and transitions between activities
- Facilitate play-based learning experiences that align with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), engaging children in age-appropriate activities that promote curiosity, creativity, and development
- Observe and document children’s learning, interests, and progress under the guidance of qualified educators to support planning and reflective practice
- Provide support to the room team by helping maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating learning environment, including setting up and packing away resources
- Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and professional development opportunities to deepen your understanding of early childhood pedagogy and centre operations
- Build warm, respectful, and responsive relationships with children, families, and fellow educators
- Adhere to all centre policies and procedures, including those relating to child safety, health and hygiene, and the National Quality Standards (NQS)
- Complete placement tasks, journals, and assessments as required by your education provider, with support from your assigned workplace mentor
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a qualification in education, training, or a related field
- Valid and clear WWCC or Blue Card
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team
