About the role

The Picker role supports Transfer Yard Operations by sorting and recovering recyclable materials from construction and demolition waste. You will help separate valuable resources such as timber, metals, and concrete, ensuring non-recyclable material is correctly processed through to landfill.

This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment where attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Sort and remove recyclable materials from conveyor waste streams
• Identify and separate timber, metals, concrete, and other recoverable materials
• Follow site procedures and safety requirements at all times
• Report hazards, incidents, and equipment issues
• Assist with general site duties including cleaning and basic manual tasks
• Work safely and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors 

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all safety policies and wear required PPE
• Complete daily pre-start checks
• Report hazards and incidents immediately
• Comply with all site procedures and environmental standards

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in a physical, outdoor/industrial environment
• Australian Driver’s Licence
• Team player with good communication skills
• Willingness to complete pre-employment checks (national police check, medical, etc.)
