The Crisis Support Team Lead / Trainer plays a pivotal role in our charity organisation, providing leadership and training to a dedicated team of crisis support workers. This position is essential for ensuring that our team is equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively assist individuals in crisis situations. Based in Dubbo, New South Wales, this permanent, full-time role is integral to our mission of delivering compassionate and effective support to those in need.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the crisis support team, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
- Develop and implement training programs for new and existing team members.
- Be responsible for delivering high-quality, effective training programs to enhance the skills, knowledge, and awareness of clients, customers, and the community.
- Provide ongoing support and supervision to team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Conduct regular assessments of team performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with other departments and external agencies to enhance service provision.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to team activities and client interactions.
- Stay updated on best practices in crisis support and incorporate relevant changes into training and operations.
Qualifications:
- Relevant vocational qualification in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in crisis support or a similar role.
- Hold ongoing full accreditation under a National health, social work or counselling
registration board. Acceptable accrediting bodies include, but are not limited
to: Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Australian Counselling Association (ACA) Level 2 or higher
Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (Clinical Member)
- Proven experience in team leadership and training.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage challenging situations.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in crisis intervention.
