The Manager of our Grazing team is responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality grazing
and natural resource management (NRM) outcomes across the Mackay Whitsunday Isaac region.
This role combines technical program oversight with people leadership, ensuring projects are
delivered in line with funding requirements, best practice grazing management, and organisational priorities.
A key focus of the role is translating funding agreements into clear deliverables, systems, and
processes that support consistent, compliant, and efficient program delivery.
The Manager leads the Grazing team to deliver against contractual milestones while building
capability, maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, and ensuring programs remain responsive to changing environmental, economic, and community conditions.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the delivery of the Grazing program by translating funding agreements into clear work plans, deliverables, and team priorities
- Provide technical oversight and program assurance, ensuring compliance with contractual milestones, reporting requirements, and evidence standards
- Establish and continuously improve delivery frameworks, systems, and tools (e.g. Natural Capital planning approaches) to support consistent and efficient project outcomes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skill
- Oversee project performance
including timelines, budgets, risks, and budget accruals, responding
proactively to changes in scope, funding, or external conditions
- Lead, coach, and develop the Grazing team to build technical capability, accountability, and confidence in delivery
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture, supporting staff wellbeing and professional growth
- Build and maintain strong relationships with graziers, landholders, industry, and partners, providing credible and practical technical guidance
- Contribute to program design, funding proposals, and continuous improvement, ensuring activities align with best practice grazing land management and organisational priorities
About You
You are a technically capable and structured leader with experience delivering programs in grazing, agriculture, or natural resource management environments.
You bring the ability to interpret funding agreements and program requirements and translate them
into practical delivery frameworks that enable teams to meet milestones and
compliance expectations.
You are confident managing project delivery systems, reporting requirements, and contractual
obligations, while also supporting your team through clear direction, coaching,
and capability development.
You are solutions-focused, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a changing environment. You balance strong systems and processes with effective stakeholder engagement and a collaborative leadership style.

Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience leading or supervising teams, with the ability to build capability, provide clear direction, and drive accountability in program delivery
- Strong experience in grazing, agriculture, land management, or NRM environments
- Proven ability to interpret and manage funding agreements, contracts, or delivery frameworks
- Experience overseeing program delivery, including milestone tracking, reporting and compliance
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement practical systems, frameworks, and processes that support consistent and efficient delivery
- Experience managing project performance, including timelines, budgets, risks, and adapting to changes in scope or external conditions
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and provide credible, practical technical guidance
- High-level communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance technical oversight and people leadership
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Science, Agriculture, NRM, or a related discipline
- Current and valid Driver’s Licence
Desirable but not essential
- Certificate IV Leadership and Management
- Experience in natural resource management or not-for-profit sector
- Technical knowledge of grazing systems and land management practices
