We’re looking for a Community Fundraising Officer to join our team and help individuals and workplaces across Australia make a difference for families facing childhood cancer.
This is a role for someone who thrives on creativity, variety and creating meaningful relationships. You’ll be the friendly face of Redkite for our community fundraisers – cheering them on, helping them bring their fundraising ideas to life, celebrating their wins and making sure they feel supported and valued every step of the way.
You’ll support people fundraising in their own unique ways, from hosting events and taking on challenges to participating in campaigns. No two days will look the same – one day you might be helping someone launch their first ever fundraising page, the next you could be attending an incredible community event or celebrating a fundraiser’s major milestone.
The role will involve:
- Building genuine relationships with new and existing community fundraisers
- Inspiring, educating and motivating fundraisers to reach their goals
- Helping fundraisers bring their ideas to life through resources, guidance and creative support
- Developing online fundraising pages and dedicated supporter materials
- Providing regular check-ins, encouragement and practical fundraising advice
- Issuing authority to fundraise documentation and ensuring supporters have what they need to succeed
- Thanking fundraisers and identifying opportunities to recognise and celebrate them
- Supporting fundraisers’ events and representing Redkite in the community
About you:
You’re a confident, curious and outgoing relationship-builder who enjoys creating genuine connections with others. You’re comfortable picking up the phone, starting conversations, speaking to groups and putting yourself out there to create meaningful experiences.
You don’t need to have a long career in fundraising. We’re looking for someone with the right attitude, energy and passion who is excited to learn and make an impact.
You’ll bring:
- Experience in a relationship-focused, fundraising, customer service, community, events or engagement role
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build genuine relationships with people from all backgrounds, with the empathy, confidence and emotional maturity to have meaningful conversations in sensitive or emotionally significant circumstances
- Confidence engaging with supporters, volunteers and stakeholders, whether one-on-one or in front of a crowd
- A proactive, creative approach and the ability to turn ideas into action
- Strong organisation and time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly adapt to new systems and processes
- Confidence representing Redkite at events and community activities
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience using a CRM database
- A willingness to occasionally work outside standard hours, including evenings, weekends and some travel
