The Stores Officer will be a vital member of the Warehouse Team on a 12‑month fixed‑term basis. You will work collaboratively within a team that delivers comprehensive logistics, inventory, and warehousing services to support the mine site’s operations.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, movements, and location in the warehouse.
- Conduct regular stock checks and cycle counts.
- Ensure proper storage and organisation of goods to optimise space and ensure easy access.
- Receiving and Inspection:
- Receive deliveries, check incoming goods for quality, quantity, and damage.
- Ensure that all received goods are accurately recorded and appropriately stored.
- Manage the proper labelling and identification of inventory items.
Issuing and Distribution:
- Ensure that stock is distributed according to requirements.
- Pick, pack, and prepare items for dispatch in a timely manner.
- Organise materials and equipment for pick slips.
Health and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Report and address any unsafe practices or hazards within the warehouse.
- Implement proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate documentation for all stock transactions.
- Generate reports on stock levels, stock movements, and discrepancies.
- Update inventory management systems with up-to-date information on stock.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Ensure the safe use and maintenance of warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.
- Report any malfunctions or required repairs of equipment.
Other tasks as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of two years previous experience as a Stores Officer, preferably in mining or heavy industry.
- Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite – Word and Excel
- Experience with a warehouse database (ERP) system such as Pronto or similar.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to provide superior service to internal and external clients.
- Able to multi-task, prioritise and manage time efficiently.
- High level attention to detail.
- An absolute commitment to working safely, complying with all site safety standards and ensuring a safe work environment.
- Must have C Class Driver’s License.
- Must have reliable transport to drive-in, drive-out to site on roster.
- Current High Risk Work License – LF (Forklift).
- HR/MR truck License – highly desirable.
- Strong work ethic with integrity.
- Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
- You MUST live within a 200 km radius of Ravenswood Gold mine site.
