membership representative body of over 2500 people with a disability and their

About the Role
The Business and Partnerships
Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating QDN Consulting’s business
development and partnership functions across agreed priority areas. The role
provides strategic oversight of relationship-based growth activities, ensuring
a sustainable and well-managed pipeline of work that supports QDN’s purpose and
disability-led approach.
The Business and Partnerships
Lead reports to the Manager, Projects and Innovation and works closely with the
General Manager, senior colleagues, and QDN members to position QDN as a
trusted provider of inclusive, disability-led consultancy and engagement
services. The role may provide guidance and direction to other staff and
consultants contributing to business development and partnership activities.

As Business and Partnerships
Lead, you bring senior-level experience in business development, partnerships,
or related roles within professional services, social enterprise, government,
or community-led organisations. You demonstrate sound professional judgement, a
strategic approach to relationship-based work, and a commitment to delivering
outcomes that align with QDN’s purpose, values, and disability-led approach.
You model ethical, accessible,
and inclusive practice and contribute to the quality and integrity of
consulting activities in line with QDN’s Quality System and relevant
legislative and policy frameworks, including the Queensland Human Rights Act.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Highly
developed interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to
build, maintain, and steward strong relationships that reflect QDN’s values and
mission.
- Demonstrated
experience leading end-to-end business development and partnership activities,
contributing to sustainable work pipelines and organisational viability.
- Proven
capability in preparing high-quality proposals, tenders, and expressions of
interest that clearly communicate lived-experience-led value and impact.
- Strong
stakeholder and account management with government and corporate clients,
building trust, repeat work and referrals.
- Demonstrated
strategic leadership and commercial acumen, partnering effectively with
delivery teams, overseeing complex initiatives and driving creative, solution
focused outcomes.
- Exceptional
negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to provide expert advice
to internal stakeholders to progress opportunities and agreements.
- Strong
digital and systems capability (including CRM, pipeline dashboards and proposal
libraries) to improve efficiency, support planning, coordination and
organisational insight.
- The
ability to operate effectively in a small, dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to ethical, values aligned business development that advances
QDN’s mission and impact.
- Understanding or awareness of co-design and systemic advocacy and
disability-led approaches.
- A
genuine passion for social impact and an alignment with QDN’s vision.
What will you do in the role?
- Lead and coordinate QDN’s consulting’s
business development and partnership activities across key priority sectors (e.g. Government,
corporate, Brisbane 2032 Games), aligning with QDN’s mission and strategic
goals.
- Identify and progress
opportunities for new and ongoing work through relationship-based
engagement with clients and partners.
- Lead the preparation of
proposals, tender responses and EOIs, including pricing, scope and
delivery plans that effectively communicate QDN Consulting’s value
proposition.
- Work collaboratively with
project delivery leads to support scoping, resourcing and scheduling of
activities in line with capacity and priorities.
- Oversee and contribute to
project delivery, collaborating with consultants and subject matter
experts to ensure outputs are well-structured, accessible and aligned with
client expectations.
- Produce client outputs,
including reports, presentations and recommendations that translate
insights into practical, high-quality deliverables.
- Manage, facilitate and nurture
key client relationships and projects to ensure satisfaction, repeat
engagements, and referrals.
- Collaborate with external and internal
stakeholders to develop and refine scalable, packaged service offerings.
- Monitor and analyse market
trends and client feedback to inform ongoing service development and
pricing strategies.
- Coordinate QDN Consulting’s
brand and marketing activities with Communications, ensuring consistent
positioning and visibility across channels and materials.
- Maintain CRM including
opportunity stages, values and close dates, generating monthly pipeline
and win-loss reports.
- Contribute to forecasting and
forward planning to support a sustainable and well-managed pipeline of
work.
- Fulfil other responsibilities as directed by the General Manager, Communications, Member and Strategic Engagement or the
CEO, contributing to strategy and leadership.
Key Relationships
The role of Business and Partnership Lead- reports
directly to Manager – Projects and Innovation. The role works closely
with QDN delivery leads, communications, finance and QDN members to position,
win and deliver consulting engagements. This role will align with the overall
team goals of generating revenue, funding, innovation, partnerships, and
organisational growth. The role manages relationships with prospective and
current clients across Government, business community, not-for-profit sector
and wider industry to ensure client satisfaction and growth.

Key job requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in
business, marketing, communications or a related field (or equivalent
experience).
- Experience in disability sector highly regarded.
- The following screening and/or licences are required to fulfil the role: Police Check (Essential), Positive Exemption Notice – Yellow Card (Essential), Drivers Licence (Highly regarded)
