About Us
Queensland Music Festival (QMF) is a pioneering music and cultural tourism organisation that connects people to place through music, culture and community.
With more than two decades of impact, QMF has evolved from a biennial festival into an organisation creating innovative music, cultural and social programs across Queensland.
Our signature initiative, QLD Music Trails, creates unforgettable experiences in extraordinary locations across the state. Through music, we bring people together and connect audiences with Queensland’s communities, stories and landscapes.
We’re looking for a Marketing Coordinator to join our Marketing & Brand team and help bring these experiences, and the stories behind them, to audiences across Queensland and beyond.
About the Opportunity
Full-time | Fixed-term for 2 years
This is a hands-on marketing coordination role for someone who enjoys turning plans into action and being part of the team that brings campaigns, events and audience experiences to life.
Working closely with the GM Marketing & Brand, Marketing Campaigns Manager and broader Marketing & Brand team, you’ll support the delivery of marketing and communications activity across QMF and QLD Music Trails.
Your work will span digital content, eDMs, websites and social media, campaign coordination, ticketing and audience communications, merchandise, stakeholder support and on-ground event delivery.
It’s a varied role for someone who enjoys both the creative and practical sides of marketing. One day you might be coordinating campaign content and updating digital channels; another, supporting stakeholder communications, preparing event collateral or helping deliver marketing activity on the ground at one of our events.
You’ll be joining a collaborative team and an organisation where marketing is closely connected to the experiences we create, the communities we work with and the audiences we welcome.
What Success Looks Like
You’re someone who can see both the detail and the bigger picture.
You’re organised enough to keep multiple activities moving, confident working across different digital platforms and comfortable coordinating with people across an organisation. You care about the quality of your work and understand that good marketing relies on clear communication, accurate information and thoughtful execution.
You enjoy working collaboratively, but you can also take ownership of your work, use initiative and follow things through.
Most importantly, you’re interested in audiences and what makes people connect with an experience, a place or a story.
About You
You may be building your career in marketing, communications or events and are looking for a role where you can deepen your experience across campaigns, content, digital channels and live event delivery.
You bring:
- Experience working in a marketing, communications or related team environment, ideally with some exposure to events, arts, tourism, culture or entertainment (highly preferred)
- Strong written communication and copywriting skills, with the ability to adapt content for different audiences and channels
- Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to coordinate competing priorities and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail, including proofreading, editing and quality assurance
- A sound understanding of digital communications, websites and social media platforms
- Initiative, good judgement and a practical approach to solving problems
- The flexibility to travel and work outside standard hours at times in line with the QLD Music Trails event calendar.
Experience with platforms such as WordPress, HubSpot, Canva, Asana or Airtable, social media scheduling tools and ticketing systems will be valuable. Just as importantly, you’ll be comfortable learning new systems and ways of working.
Why Join Us?
At QMF, you’ll be part of an organisation creating experiences that connect music with Queensland’s people, places and communities.
This role offers the opportunity to:
- Build broad, hands-on experience across marketing campaigns, digital content and live events
- Work on distinctive projects and experiences delivered across Queensland
- See your work move from planning and campaign development through to real-world audience experiences
- Collaborate with a team working across marketing, design, programming, events, tourism and community engagement
- Contribute ideas and grow your capability over 2 years (with the opportunity of the role moving to permanent)
- Be part of a purpose-driven organisation where creativity, collaboration and connection to place are central to the work.
