Public Skills Australia (PSA) has been appointed by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) as one of 10 Jobs and Skills Councils. PSA works with employer and employee representatives from the Public Safety and Government industry-sectors – Police, Fire and Emergency Services, Correctional Services, Defence, and all levels of Government – to ensure Australia’s vocational education and training (VET) system delivers better outcomes for learners and employers. A primary function of PSA is to provide workforce planning, industry intelligence and training product development in support of industry needs and government priorities.
The Governance, Risk and Compliance Officer is accountable to the Risk and Compliance Lead and works closely with staff in the Office of Executive Strategy (OES) and others responsible for reporting and compliance. The Governance, Risk and Compliance Officer supports the corporate risk, compliance and governance of the company. This position supports several key relationships
including with the Board, Industry Advisory Group and Subcommittees. The Governance, Risk and Compliance Officer will support the development of annual reports, maintenance of compliance registers, updating of company information, review of company policy and implementation of the company Risk Framework, in support of the Governance Lead and Risk and Compliance Lead. The position resides within the OES and supports this team as and when required. This position requires a combination of governance, risk and compliance knowledge and stakeholder management skills to ensure the efficient and effective support to the Governance Lead, Risk and Compliance Lead, Company Secretary and broader OES. The Governance, Risk and Compliance Officer is responsible for supporting governance, risk and compliance practice and knowledge across the company under direction of the Risk and Compliance Lead.

Essential
1. Experience relevant to the responsibilities of the position.
2. Demonstrated experience in governance and compliance
3. Demonstrated experience in reporting and working with executive level stakeholders
4. Demonstrated ability to be flexible and responsive to changing priorities.
5. Demonstrated experience in working with high level boards, councils and committees.
Desirable
1.Experience working within service-focused private companies
2.Experience working in public safety and/or government contexts.
3.Experience in working in small companies or not for profits.
4.Experience in working with SharePoint.
