About the Role
As a Senior Journalist, you will play an important role in producing high-quality editorial content across our print and digital platforms.
In line with Prime Creative Media’s purpose of growing individuals, organisations and industries, we take a constructive and forward-looking approach to industry journalism. You will identify and tell stories that highlight progress, innovation, achievement and positive developments across the industries we cover, while maintaining accuracy, credibility and editorial integrity.
This is a hands-on role. You’ll research, source, write and edit content, conduct interviews and build strong relationships across the industries you cover. You’ll also contribute to the production process and work closely with editors, sales, design, production and other internal teams to ensure content is delivered on time and to a consistently high standard.
In this role, you will:
- Source, research, write and edit accurate, engaging news and feature content across print and digital platforms.
- Maintain a strong pipeline of relevant stories to support consistent editorial output.
- Identify emerging developments, issues and stories affecting the industries we cover.
- Conduct interviews with clients, industry professionals and subject-matter experts.
- Translate technical, specialist and commercial information into clear and compelling content.
- Ensure the accuracy, quality and consistency of published editorial material.
- Contribute to the production of print publications, including editorial planning, schedules and approval processes.
- Contribute content to websites, newsletters, social media channels and other digital platforms.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry professionals, associations, clients and contributors.
- Represent our publications at local and interstate trade shows, conferences, roundtables and other industry events.
- Develop positive and engaging industry stories that showcase innovation, progress, achievement and opportunity.
- Support clients by producing engaging content that showcases their businesses, products and services to relevant industry audiences.
- Work collaboratively with editors and other internal teams to support the continued relevance, quality and growth of our publications.
About You
You are an experienced journalist with strong news judgement, excellent writing skills and the confidence to build relationships with a broad range of industry stakeholders.
You will ideally have:

- At least three years’ experience as a journalist or in a comparable editorial role.
- A proven ability to source, research, write and edit a high volume of accurate and engaging content.
- Strong news judgement and the ability to identify stories that matter to specialist audiences.
- Excellent writing, interviewing, editing and proofreading skills.
- Experience working across print and digital publishing platforms.
- The ability to understand complex or technical subject matter and communicate it clearly.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- The confidence to represent a publication and develop connections across an industry.
- Excellent organisation, attention to detail and deadline management.
- The ability to work independently, take accountability for outcomes and collaborate effectively within a team.
- A degree in Journalism, Media, Communications or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
