Positive Practices offers high-quality behaviour support services to Participants of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) across the Northern Territory. About the Role:
Reporting to the Clinical Lead, you will deliver high quality, evidence-based clinical advice and professional information to a team of practitioners, persons living with a disability, families, service providers and other stakeholders.
Key Duties:
- Deliver and review high-quality clinical services, including functional behaviour assessments, behaviour support plans, and interventions aligned with evidence-based guidelines, NDIS Rules and Legislation.
- Provide supervision, mentoring and support to junior clinicians, ensuring high standards of practice.
- Engage participants, families, support staff, and advocates in the development, implementation, and review of support plans.
- Collaborate regularly with the participant’s support team through data reviews and goal-based planning.
- Coordinate with other providers working with the participant to ensure cohesive service delivery.
- Adhere to service quality and work health and safety standards to maintain high-quality, safe services and workplaces.
- Promote a positive workplace culture through leadership and role modelling.
Essential Selection Criteria
- Recognised degree in Behaviour Analysis, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Speech Pathology, Education or Behavioural Science, with eligibility for professional registration
- Proven experience providing clinical supervision, leadership, and mentorship to junior staff.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting clinical assessments, including positive behaviour assessments, for individuals with cognitive impairments and behaviours of concern.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in positive behaviour support practices, including creating person-centred, evidence-based support plans and documenting restrictive practices in line with legislation.
- Flexibility to work effectively in a dynamic environment, managing conflict and meeting deadlines independently or within a team.
Desirable Selection Criteria:
- Post graduate study in leadership, management or clinical supervision.
- Post graduate study or experience in a specialist area i.e. paediatrics, communication, behaviour analysis etc.
