As our organisation continues to grow, we’re looking for an experienced and people-focused Rostering Team Lead to lead our rostering function and help deliver exceptional service to our participants and workforce.

The Role

As the Rostering Team Lead, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our rostering team, ensuring efficient workforce scheduling and seamless service delivery across our community services.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll coach and develop your team, manage complex rostering requirements, respond to changing operational demands, and drive continuous improvement across systems and processes. You’ll work closely with participants, clinicians, support workers, and internal stakeholders to ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing rostering and coordination team.
  • Create, maintain, and optimise staff rosters to meet participant needs and operational requirements.
  • Manage last-minute roster changes, staff absences, and urgent service requests with confidence. Monitor team performance, set KPIs, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities and support workforce planning initiatives.
  • Ensure rostering information is accurate and aligned with payroll requirements.
  • Oversee kilometre reimbursement processes, validating travel claims and ensuring compliance.
  • Build strong relationships with participants, clinicians, and external stakeholders while acting as a key point of contact.
  • Maintain accurate records within care management systems and ensure data integrity.
  • Support compliance activities, audits, and adherence to organisational policies and legislative requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve rostering systems, workflows, and service delivery outcomes.

About You

You are an organised and proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys solving complex scheduling challenges. You bring strong interpersonal skills, a customer-focused mindset, and a passion for leading teams to success.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience leading a rostering, workforce planning, scheduling, or service coordination team.
  • Experience within healthcare, aged care, disability, NDIS, community services, or a related industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop staff.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Exceptional organisational abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience using rostering or care management systems and ensuring data accuracy.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and adapt quickly to changing operational needs.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and confidence working with KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Certificate III in Administration or equivalent experience (desirable).
