Pegasus Media and Logistics is a privately owned company located at Blacktown. We offer our clients high quality and environmentally sustainable products and a large variety of printing services including commercial offset printing, point of purchase displays, campaign management, digital printing, self-adhesive labels, packaging, warehousing, inventory management and national distribution.

 

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Receiving and Despatch Officer to join the Operations Team of a fast-paced manufacturer.  

 

About The Role

 

You will be responsible for, but not limited to the following tasks:

 

  • Act as the main point of escalation for freight issues.
  • Ensure all Proof of Deliveries (PODS) are processed through their final required destination.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, while maintaining good working relationships with all parties.
  • Responsible for, and involved in, the unloading of goods (finished goods, raw materials).
  • Check goods received against Invoice/Delivery Docket/Purchase Order to verify accuracy of shipment (correct stock, quality, price).
  • Sort, unpack (if required) and log inventory received into Management Information System (MIS) accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Check deliveries for any noticeable transit damage and ensure any damage is noted on delivery paperwork prior to signing.
  • Process stock in a logical order based on when it is received and in accordance with Department procedures.
  • Ensure no goods leave Despatch without being checked and the inventory system updated, along with the required delivery documentation.
  • Collate all delivery paperwork including invoices and delivery dockets and forward to the Accounts Team in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a system to record variances of short/over supply or incorrect products and damages.
  • Report variance of goods received and damages to Purchasing Officer, Supervisor and Account Manager.
  • Prepare, print and label goods for Despatch.
  • Maintain MIS, prepare routine reports, and file shipping/receiving records.
  • Unload delivery vehicles and movement of goods in the receiving area in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Assist with the management of pallet control to ensure the correct stock on hand, stock counts are accurate and the required pricing/reimbursement occurs.  Follow up and manage any discrepancies.
  • Housekeeping duties and any other ad hoc tasks required as part of a site production team.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment for yourself and the team including working in accordance with the company Quality, Continuous Improvement and Work Health and Safety systems and standards.

 

About You

To be successful in the role, the ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Previous stores experience working within third party logistics or warehouse environment in a similar role
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Experience using an Inventory Management or Management Information System
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and planning skills to meet tight deadlines and operational requirements and to think outside the square with sound judgement.
  • Ability to demonstrate a willingness to respond to changing work requirements and peak periods.
  • Qualifications in Warehouse / Logistics
  • Possess a current Forklift Licence (High Reach and Counter Balance)
  • Have knowledge and understanding relating to pallet control
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a high degree of integrity and honesty
  • Ability to solve problems and make decisions by analysing information
  • Have a high attention to detail and quality mindset and be able to follow instructions
  • Ability to communicate with Supervisors, Peers and other stakeholders clearly and concisely
  • Must have full working rights to Work in Australia
