The Opportunity
We are seeking an accomplished General Manager to lead Paradox Sydney through the next stage of its evolution. You will provide strategic and operational leadership across all areas of the
hotel, driving commercial performance, operational excellence and exceptional guest experiences while building a high-performing leadership team and strengthening the hotel’s position within Sydney’s luxury hospitality market.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Commercial Leadership
- Develop and execute the hotel’s strategic business plan, driving sustainable growth and long-term success.
- Lead financial performance, budgeting, forecasting and capital planning to maximise profitability and return on investment.
- Identify new commercial opportunities, strengthen market positioning and respond proactively to changing market conditions.
Operational Excellence
- Provide visible leadership across all hotel operations, ensuring the consistent delivery of exceptional five-star guest experiences.
- Drive continuous improvement through innovation, operational efficiency, and service excellence.
- Maintain the highest standards of quality, compliance, safety, and brand performance across all departments.
Leadership & Culture
- Inspire, coach and develop a high-performing Executive Leadership Team while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Champion employee engagement, leadership development, and succession planning across the hotel.
- Build an inclusive workplace where people feel valued, empowered and supported to perform at their best.
Brand & Community
- Represent Paradox Sydney within the local community and the wider hospitality industry.
- Strengthen relationships with owners, corporate stakeholders, business partners, and tourism organisations.
- Enhance the hotel’s reputation through strategic partnerships, community engagement, and brand advocacy.
About You
You are an authentic and commercially astute hospitality leader with a passion for luxury service and developing high-performing teams. You combine strategic thinking with operational excellence and are recognised for building strong relationships, leading through change, and delivering exceptional
business outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Significant senior leadership experience within premium or luxury hotels, including experience as a General Manager or senior Hotel Manager ready to step into a General Manager position.
- Demonstrated success leading large, complex hotel operations with responsibility for financial performance and commercial outcomes.
- Strong commercial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue optimisation, and strategic planning.
- A proven ability to build, develop and inspire high-performing leadership teams.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management skills.
- Experience working within a five-star luxury hotel environment.
- A tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management, Business or a related discipline is desirable.

This position is open to candidates with previous General Manager or senior Hotel Manager experience in a full-service hotel. Applicants without relevant hotel leadership experience will not be considered.
