Set within the beautifully preserved 169-year-old sandstone façade that once housed Sydney’s Fairfax newspaper empire and the Bank of New South Wales, Paradox Sydney honours the rich heritage of its landmark building while embracing a contemporary expression of five-star hospitality. The Role
We are seeking an experienced and service-driven Duty Manager to join our Front Office leadership team at Paradox Sydney.
Reporting to the Front Office Manager, you will lead the daily operation of the Front Office, Concierge and Porter teams, ensuring every guest receives a warm welcome and exceptional service throughout their stay.
As the senior operational leader on shift, you will oversee hotel operations, support your team, respond to guest enquiries and resolve issues with professionalism and sound judgement. You will also work closely with all hotel departments to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the hotel.
This role operates across a rotating roster, including morning, afternoon and occasional overnight shifts to provide operational and leave coverage.
About You
You are a confident hospitality professional who enjoys leading from the front and creating memorable guest experiences. You remain calm under pressure, have excellent attention to detail and enjoy developing and supporting your team.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Duty Manager or Front Office Supervisor in a four or five-star hotel
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team
- A genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest service
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Experience using Opera PMS and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Sound knowledge of hotel operations and emergency procedures
- A current NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate
- A current First Aid Certificate
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends, public holidays and occasional overnight shifts

Pay & Conditions
This is a full-time salaried position classified at Level 6 under the Hospitality Industry (General) Award.
