Technical Product Manager – Hardware Innovation

Pacvac is a WA-grown global leader in commercial cleaning technology, known for our high-performance backpack vacuum solutions. We are looking for a Technical Product Manager to help shape and deliver the next generation of products within our Product & Innovation team.
This is a hands-on role focused on hardware product development, technical feasibility, validation, and early-stage commercialisation. It will suit someone who is technically strong, comfortable working closely with engineering, and excited by bringing new physical products to life.
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Product & Innovation, you will lead new product initiatives from concept and validation through to initial launch. Working closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, QA, Sales and Marketing, you will help identify product opportunities, develop technical briefs, support prototyping
and testing, and contribute to successful market launches.
Key responsibilities
- Lead early-stage development of new hardware products
- Translate customer and market needs into product requirements
- Develop product briefs and technical specifications
- Assess feasibility, manufacturability, cost, and quality trade-offs
- Support prototyping, field testing, and validation
- Work with suppliers, OEMs, and internal teams to progress development
- Contribute to product positioning, launch planning, and early commercialisation
- Monitor market trends and emerging technologies
About you
You may come from Product Management or an adjacent background such as Product Engineering, NPI, Technical Product Management, Commercialisation, or Innovation within a hardware-led business.
You will ideally bring:
- Experience in hardware product development or new product introduction
- Strong technical fluency and confidence working with engineering teams
- Exposure to manufacturability, sourcing, quality, or compliance considerations
- A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving and product validation
- Strong stakeholder communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Exposure to battery-powered, electrical, appliance, or adjacent hardware products will be highly regarded
