About the Role
We’re seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to support maintenance and reliability across our farm operations. Working closely with the production and engineering teams, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems across the site, including conveyors, packing machines, motors, control panels, fans, and other farm equipment.
This site also includes a grading facility and feed mill, providing variety and exposure across multiple operational areas.
You’ll attend breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance, support process improvements, and assist with electrical installation work and safety upgrades. This is a hands-on role where your problem-solving ability and initiative will have a direct impact on production uptime and farm operations.
The role operates on a 4 on / 4 off rotating roster, offering a strong work-life balance.
What You’ll Do
- Attend electrical breakdowns and diagnose issues quickly to reduce downtime
- Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance across farm equipment
- Perform electrical installation works and upgrades as required
- Maintain and repair conveyor systems, packing machines, motors, control panels, fans, and farm electrical infrastructure
- Support maintenance across the grading site and feed mill as required
- Use the site CMMS system to log work orders, maintenance activity, and asset history
- Assist with safety improvements and electrical compliance projects
- Maintain accurate work records and contribute to maintenance reporting
- Participate in toolbox talks and maintenance planning discussions
- Mentor and support apprentices, helping develop future trades talent
- Keep work areas tidy, safe, and compliant with OH&S policies
- Work collaboratively with farm leadership and maintenance teams to ensure reliable production
About You
You’re an electrically minded technician who takes pride in doing the job right the first time. You enjoy solving problems, working with machinery, and keeping production teams moving.
We’re Looking For:
- Electrical Trade Certificate or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of industrial or agricultural electrical systems
- Experience working with:
Conveyors
Packing machines
Motors and control circuits
Fans and farm equipment
- Good understanding of 3-phase electrical systems
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot quickly and effectively
- Strong focus on safety and quality work
- Reliable, proactive, and able to work well within a team
- Willingness to work a 4 on / 4 off rotating roster
- PLC knowledge
- Experience using a CMMS maintenance system highly regarded
- Experience mentoring apprentices or junior tradespeople desirable
- Experience in food production or farming environments highly regarded
