About OzHarvest:

OzHarvest is a leading food rescue organisation on a mission to ‘Nourish our Country’ by stopping good food from going to waste and delivering it to charities that help feed people in need. Through our education programs and our advocacy work, we hope to inspire others to change behaviour and help reach the national target of halving food waste by 2030.

About the Role:

To keep our wheels turning and stop good food from going to waste, we need the help of the community, corporates, funders, and friends of our cause. The VIC Engagement Coordinator is key in supporting opportunities that can help us deliver our mission and Nourish our Country. Reporting to the Engagement Manager, the Engagement Coordinator will help to acquire, establish, and nurture connections with new and existing external corporates and act as the key point of contact for the corporate stakeholders. The role also entails facilitating the Cooking For A Cause (CFAC) and Catering program and organising corporate engagement for OzHarvest. This is an in-person role to ensure personalise contact with our corporate participants, and presence for support of our kitchen operations team. This is a part-time and fixed-term contract for 12 months.

Engagement Coordinator:

  • Provide support to the Engagement Manager – VIC to deliver corporate engagement activities across VIC.
  • Provide input based on experience and relationships on the overall VIC corporate engagement strategy.
  • Meet, greet, welcome, and build deeper relationships with corporates when they engage with OzHarvest activations.
  • Educate customers about our program offerings and cross-sell program opportunities.
  • Develop and administer the Cooking for A Cause program.
  • Liaise with corporate partners to negotiate dates and facilitate the booking process.
  • Identify new opportunities through networking, generating new leads, cold calling, and prospecting as directed by the Engagement Manager – VIC, ensuring the accuracy of data use and entry into CRM (Salesforce).
  • Liaise with and support the Engagement Manager – VIC to create opportunities that will ensure effective, deep, and multi-level engagement with corporate supporters, including participation in events, corporate volunteering, regular giving, and pro bono support activities.
  • Ensure that individual aspects of corporate engagement are effectively managed and integrated to deliver extraordinary engagement experiences for our corporates.
  • Communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives and engagements to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Meet potential corporates by growing, maintaining, and leveraging OzHarvest’s purpose.
  • Successfully manage the sales process; qualify customer needs and budget, present appropriate solutions, negotiate, and close new business.
  • Take the lead with internal teams to onboard and integrate new corporates.
  • Administration of our Catering program and offerings.

Qualifications:

  • Current driver’s licence
  • Current and Valid Police Check
  • Current and Valid Working with Children Check
  • Safe Food Handling Certificate
  • Manual Handling Certificate

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience in customer service and relationship building role
  • Excellent Prospecting, and Networking Skills
  • Ability to react quickly to events and to prioritise in a fast-moving environment
  • Understanding of Safe Food Practices
  • Experience with stakeholder conflict resolution
  • CRM Knowledge, KPI Reporting, Excel and Microsoft Office Proficient
  • Experience in managing internal and external relationships with stakeholders
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and planning skills, balanced with ability to make timely decisions to events and to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and accurate record keeping skills
