The Role

We are seeking a motivated and community-minded Indigenous Administration and Engagement Assistant to support the Indigenous Centre for Leadership and Engagement and the work of the Freemantle-Lewis Fellow.

This role focuses on supporting First Nations student engagement through event coordination, administration and maintaining a welcoming community space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with social, cultural and community events for First Nations students.
  • Provide administrative support including communications, minute-taking and resource preparation.
  • Help maintain the Indigenous Centre for Leadership and Engagement.
  • Prepare spaces for events and support community engagement initiatives.
  • Communicate important updates to the Freemantle-Lewis Fellow.

About You

You are organised, approachable and passionate about community engagement, with a positive attitude and collaborative approach.

Essential Criteria:

  • Must be an Ormond College residential or non-residential student. (2nd or 3rd year)
  • Must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Reliable, professional and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Current Working with Children Check (Employee) or willingness to obtain one.
