Responsibilities
- Support Survey Directors, Team Leaders, Registered Surveyors and Survey Coordinator as required.
- Undertake field and office surveying tasks under the direct supervision of a Registered Surveyor.
- Assist Team Leader with the supervision, management and mentoring of Survey Team members to ensure compliance with company workflows and survey standards/policies.
- Assist Team Leader with the supervision, management and mentoring of Survey Team members to ensure efficiency expectations are met.
- Plan, manage and schedule survey work for small and large survey tasks as required.
- Engagement and technical input to improve Orion survey workflows and survey standards/policies.
- Manage allocated client enquiries as required.
- Communication/liaison with client and stakeholders throughout all stages of work to ensure scope, quality, contractual and deadline expectations are met.
- Lead and undertake complex and technical field survey tasks including traversing and control network placement, monitoring, feature location and marking/set-out of boundaries and structures.
- Supervise and support the undertaking of survey work by other Survey Team members across engineering, construction and infrastructure projects as required.
- Provide technical guidance and training to Survey Team members as required to develop their knowledge base and assist with their career progression.
- Identify training needs of less experienced Survey Team members.
- Record survey data including preparation of field notes.
- Process and analyse complex and technical survey data using CAD and other software.
- Draft and check survey plans, sketches and reports.
- Ensure all Environmental, Quality and WHS procedures and processes are applied and documented throughout all project stages.
- Adopt, promote and adhere to Orion Group’s Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Implement good practice, templates, policies and work tools that support the ongoing success and growth of the business.
- Actively participate in Orion meetings and workshops, contributing positively to project outcomes and team collaboration.
- Maintain/calibrate/clean survey equipment.
