Summary:
We are seeking a highly organised, professional, and customer-focused Receptionist to join our team. Oriental Merchant is a well-established and globally recognised importer and distributor of premium Asian food products. With a strong presence across international markets, we pride ourselves on delivering quality products and exceptional service to our customers.
We are currently looking for our next team member to join our team at our warehouse in Laverton, VIC. As the first point of contact for visitors, clients, and staff, you will play a key role in creating a positive and professional impression of our organisation.

Work Schedule:
This is a part-time, permanent position.
3 days per week, 5.5 hours per day (from 9AM to 3PM)
Preferably Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (but flexible for the right candidate).
Daily Duties
Office Management
- Attend to reception duties, including welcoming and registering visitors (including tradespeople and service providers)
- Manage incoming telephone calls in a courteous manner and direct them to the appropriate parties
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the reception area and main office lobby
Consolidate stationery requests from office and warehouse departments in Laverton and notify the Line Manager in Mulgrave to raise purchase orders
- Verify stationery and office equipment purchase documentation (e.g. invoices) upon receipt to ensure compliance with Office Administrative policies
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness of common lunchroom areas and ensure replenishment of amenities (tea, coffee, milk, sugar, etc.)
- Distribute fruit to staff every Monday upon receipt from the fruit vendor
- Perform any other office management duties as assigned from time to time
Facilities and Amenities
- Provide administrative support for warehouse facilities and amenities
- Assist with communication with service providers, as required
- Perform any other duties related to Facilities and Amenities as assigned from time to time
Secondary Role
- Assist the Shipping Department with tasks as assigned, including regular filing of shipping and customs documentation
- Support the Group Logistics Division with any additional duties and tasks as required from time to time
