We’re pleased to offer a part-time opportunity (3 days per week) fixed term 12 months within our Operations Team for an experienced Security Services Officer. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a safe, secure, and compliant airport environment. ROLE HIGHLIGHTS:

This is a part-time position, working three days per week, with standard hours of 8:20 am – 5:00 pm.

As a Security Services Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with aviation security requirements in line with federal legislation, the Cairns Airport Transport Security Program (TSP), and the ASIC Program. You will support quality control procedures, maintain security systems and records, and contribute to the continuous improvement of security operations across the airport.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure compliance with aviation security legislation and Cairns Airport security programs
  • Support the management and administration of the ASIC and Visitor Identification Card (VIC) programs
  • Maintain accurate records and security systems, including access control and key management
  • Assist with internal and external audits and compliance activities
  • Liaise with government agencies, airport stakeholders, tenants, and contractors to ensure security requirements are met
  • Promote a strong safety, security, and customer service culture
  • Actively support Cairns Airport’s Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and ESG commitments

ABOUT YOU: You will bring:

  • Experience in a security, compliance, administration, or airport operations environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of aviation security and regulatory frameworks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail with excellent organisational, time, and task management skills
  • The ability to work calmly and effectively in a regulated and operational environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to teamwork and customer service

Qualifications and experience (desirable):

  • Experience working within an aviation, airport, or security environment
  • Relevant qualifications in aviation security, airport operations, or a relate discipline
  • Experience supporting audits, compliance programs, or quality assurance systems

ELIGIBIILITY:

  •  Unrestricted rights to work in Australia.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card.
