About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cloud Technical Architect with a strong background in infrastructure architecture to support the transition of superannuation administration systems.
Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and technical architecture, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Azure.
- Demonstrated experience as a Cloud Technical Architect (or equivalent), taking high-level solution architectures and producing detailed low-level designs (LLD) for cloud infrastructure, platforms, and integrations, with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure.
- Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Azure services across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, including strong hands-on experience with networking, security, governance, identity & access management, and cloud security best practices.
- Solid experience designing and implementing cloud migration strategies, hybrid cloud architectures, and microservices-based solutions in Azure.
- Proven ability to translate high-level architectural patterns and business requirements into comprehensive low-level technical designs, including detailed component specifications, configuration standards, API/integration contracts, infrastructure-as-code modules, security controls, and operational runbooks.
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM) and CI/CD pipelines. Deep understanding of DevOps and Platform Engineering principles, with the ability to define actionable implementation patterns for engineering teams.
- Highly skilled at producing clear, detailed technical documentation, including low-level design documents, sequence diagrams, data flow diagrams, Azure resource configurations, and implementation guides that can be directly actioned by engineers.
- Provide input to architectural governance and design assurance across cloud infrastructure and platform solutions.
- Support delivery teams through build, migration, and transition phases to ensure low level designs are implemented correctly.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to reusable architecture patterns and standards.
- Ensure all designs meet Novigi security, compliance, and operational requirements.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with Solutions Architects, engineering teams, and senior stakeholders to ensure high-level designs are implemented correctly and consistently at the detailed level.
- A consultative, technically rigorous mindset with the ability to operate in complex and ambiguous environments while maintaining focus on delivering precise, buildable cloud solutions.
- Relevant cloud certifications strongly preferred (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Expert, or equivalent); must be deeply familiar with the Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and Well-Architected Framework (WAF), and able to apply them at a detailed technical level.
- Knowledge of financial services with a particular focus on superannuation highly favourable, but not essential.
