About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Transport Coordinator to support our operations on a 5:2 roster, working either FIFO from Perth or as a local hire in Newman.
This is a hands-on coordination role where you will be responsible for planning and optimising fleet movements, ensuring compliance, and supporting day-to-day transport operations. The position is offered on a casual basis initially, with the opportunity to transition to permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule a fleet of 20+ drivers across the Pilbara region
- Ensure all operations comply with MRWA (Main Roads WA) regulations and transport requirements
- Monitor and manage fatigue management and Chain of Responsibility compliance
- Allocate jobs and manage workflow through the FMS (Image Soft) Transport System
- Optimise fleet utilisation to maximise productivity and minimise downtime
- Plan efficient transport routes using knowledge of the Pilbara heavy vehicle network
- Coordinate mine site access and mobilisation requirements for drivers and equipment
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with drivers, clients and internal teams
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in transport scheduling or fleet coordination (20+ drivers)
- Strong understanding of MRWA road transport rules and compliance requirements
- Solid knowledge of fatigue management legislation
- Experience using transport management systems (FMS preferred)
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Pilbara heavy haulage network and logistics routes
- Understanding of various trailer configurations (e.g. drop decks, side tippers, floats)
- Experience with mine site mobilisation and access processes
- Ability to maximise fleet utilisation and operational efficiency
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
