Summary:
We’re on the lookout for a compassionate, reliable, and motivated Disability Support Worker to join our team. In this rewarding role, you’ll provide person-centred support to individuals living with a disability, helping them to maintain independence, participate in the community, and live life on their own terms.
Responsibilities:
- Provide respectful and high-quality support with daily living activities including personal care, grooming, and dressing
- Offer companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive and inclusive environment
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and transport to appointments, community outings or activities
- Support meal preparation and light household duties
- Follow and contribute to individualised care and support plans
- Monitor clients’ wellbeing and promptly report any health or behavioural concerns
- Work collaboratively with families, health professionals, and other support workers
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in line with organisational and NDIS requirements
What We’re Looking For:
- Certificate III (or higher) in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or similar (preferred)
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle (if transport is part of the role)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to build respectful, trusting relationships
- Experience supporting people with disability (particularly with personal care or complex needs)
- A proactive, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach to support
- Understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Framework and a commitment to client dignity, choice, and inclusion
