What does a Yard Person do at NHS?

This is a physically active, hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys staying busy and working as part of a team.

You’ll play an important role in keeping our yard organised, maintaining stock levels, preparing customer orders, and helping ensure customers receive the right products safely and efficiently.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Working with all thing’s timber, hardware, plasterboard and building products
• Picking of products for customer orders
• Loading of customer orders in vehicles
• Stocking and re-stocking products in racks and bays
• Maintaining a clean and safe work area
• Conducting stock counts and stocktakes
• Participating in toolbox meetings

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who:

• Enjoys hands-on, physical work
• Has a positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Takes pride in keeping their workspace clean and organised
• Is reliable, punctual and dependable
• Works well within a team environment
• Holds a current driver’s licence (Provisional or above)
• Holds a forklift licence or is willing to obtain one

Previous experience in building supplies, warehousing, logistics or yard operations is advantageous but not essential. We value attitude, reliability and willingness to learn.
