NHS have an opportunity for a Truck/Express Ute Driver to join our team. This role will support all 3 NHS branches at Beresfield, Cardiff & Lambton.

About The Role

The Truck/Express Ute Driver role is responsible for providing safe, reliable and efficient delivery services to our customers across the Hunter region while representing NHS Trade professionally on every delivery.

This hands-on role plays a critical part in ensuring customer orders are delivered accurately and on time, whether operating a truck or ute. The role works closely with the Freight Manager, Express Ute Coordinator, warehouse and yard teams to support the smooth operation of our delivery network while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high safety standards

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver customer orders safely and efficiently, ensuring customer requirements are met wherever possible
  • Operate company trucks and utes in accordance with road rules, Chain of Responsibility requirements and company procedures
  • Conduct delivery site risk assessments and determine safe unloading methods prior to delivery
  • Safely load, secure, transport and unload building materials and hardware products
  • Complete daily vehicle inspections, pre-start checks and basic vehicle maintenance reporting
  • Accurately complete delivery documentation, picking slips and proof of delivery records
  • Communicate with customers regarding delivery schedules and site requirements
  • Liaise with warehouse, yard and freight teams to ensure deliveries are completed efficiently
  • Maintain a clean, professional and well-presented vehicle at all times
  • Assist with warehouse, yard and stock handling activities as required
  • Contribute to a safe, clean and organised work environment

 

About You

You are a reliable and safety-focused team player who enjoys working independently, providing excellent customer service and ensuring customers receive their orders safely and on time.

 

You will bring:

  • A Medium Rigid (MR) NSW Heavy Vehicle Licence (essential)
  • A Heavy Rigid (HR) NSW Heavy Vehicle Licence (desirable)
  • A forklift Licence and White Card (desirable)
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety and safe driving practices
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • The ability to work independently and make sound decisions on-site
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to complete documentation accurately
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems
  • The ability to safely perform physical lifting, loading and unloading tasks
