ACCOUNTS PAYABLE OFFICER

• Permanent Part time – 27.5 hours per week

• 5.5 hours per day Monday – Friday

• Flexible work hours within standard business hours

• Based in Kensington with free onsite parking

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Accounts Payable Officer has overall responsibility of the Accounts Payable function and Purchasing, contributing to financial reporting through the completion of various monthly finance functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the accounts payable function with support from the Finance team, ensuring accurate and timely invoice entry, the preparation of weekly and ad hoc bank payments
  • Reconcile supplier statements, investigate and resolve discrepancies or queries in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the creditors subledger within the finance system, including preparation of all end-of-month reports and reconciliations.
  • Manage and coordinate purchasing requests, processing all submitted purchase quotes. This will include converting purchase quotes to purchase orders and liaising with vendors and using the corporate credit card to make adhoc credit card purchases submitted via purchase quotes.
  • Support the preparation and delivery of documentation for the annual audit, and any other required reporting.

ABOUT YOU

As the successful candidate, you will have:

  • Relevant qualification in Accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar finance role, with a focus on accounts payable transactional processing.
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles, particularly accounts payable, general ledger, and month-end processes.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with financial software systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in data entry and reconciliation tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service mindset.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • A collaborative and proactive team player with a positive and professional attitude.

Desirable

  • Experience with fleet administration or coordination.
  • Previous exposure to external audit processes or audit sample preparation.
  • Experience working in a not-for-profit, healthcare, or community services environment.

Role requirements

  • Able to work across other Ngala sites as required.
  • Possession of a current National Police Clearance.
  • Possession of a current WA driver’s licence.
