About the Position:

Reporting to the Data & Technology Manager, the Business Systems Engineer plays a vital role in supporting the effective administration, use, and improvement of the organisation’s core business platforms. Working within a small IT team, the Business System Engineer will collaborate with internal stakeholders, IT staff, and external vendors to ensure platforms are well supported, data & reporting is reliable and build solutions to meet business needs. The Business Systems Engineer assists with platform configuration, user support, and reporting, while contributing to data and analytics initiatives as the organisation continues its transition towards a more data driven environment.

This position is designed as a development role, offering exposure to enterprise platforms, data integration, and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, Build and maintain business platforms and workflows, including service management, CRM, collaboration, M365 and other SaaS tools.
  • Manage data quality, dataset ownership and documentation.
  • Build and manage stakeholder reports and dashboards (e.g. Power BI, HubSpot).
  • Support digital improvement initiatives by helping teams make better use of existing platforms and reporting tools.
  • Implement and administer access controls and work with governance & security to meet privacy, retention and audit requirements.
  • Monitor platform usage and assist in identifying opportunities to improve usability, efficiency, and data quality.
  • Assist with user access management, basic configuration changes, and platform housekeeping activities.
  • Assist with incident resolution, service requests, and technology rollouts.

About You:

  • Minimum of a Degree in a relevant field of Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • Proven experience as a technology leader with the ability to act as a trusted adviser to broader business on data related matters.
  • In-depth knowledge of current and emerging technologies.
  • Demonstrated project management and organisational abilities.
  • Experience in approaching challenges with a solution focus, demonstrating timely hands-on problem solving to generate ideas and desired outcomes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage confidently across diverse stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the Game of Rugby League.
  • Sporting industry experience.

Consistent with the nature of the sporting industry, the successful candidate must be flexible and willing to work weekends, evenings and reasonable additional hours as is required to fulfil the requirements of this position. Remuneration is set in recognition of this requirement.
