About NPS

As one of AFR’s Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies and a dual winner of the Victorian Training Awards for Apprenticeship Development (2022 & 2023), New Plumbing Solutions (NPS) is continuing to grow nationally across plumbing, maintenance, civil, water operations and digital metering services.

From humble beginnings, NPS has grown into a national business with approximately 300 employees supporting industry, government and water authorities across Australia.

At NPS, our people and culture are a key part of our success. We are progressive, responsive, play as a team and genuinely give a sh*t about our people, customers and communities.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Talent Acquisition Business Partner to join our growing People team based in Northcote.

This is not a traditional recruiter role. This position plays a critical role in supporting mobilisation, workforce scalability and operational growth across NPS.

Partnering closely with operational leaders, you will lead end-to-end recruitment across both blue-collar and white-collar workforces while helping shape talent pipelines, workforce planning and hiring capability as the business continues to expand nationally.

You will thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment where priorities shift quickly and where your ability to balance speed, quality and operational outcomes will make a real impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

The day-to-day focus of the role is supporting the attraction, screening and shortlisting of high-quality talent across our operational and field-based workforce.

You will leverage multiple sourcing channels, proactive talent approaches and AI-enabled recruitment technology to support efficient high-volume screening, while still maintaining a strong human-centred candidate experience throughout the process.

This role requires strong judgement, relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills, including directly engaging candidates to assess alignment, capability and cultural fit for NPS.

Employee referrals continue to be a strong source of talent for NPS, reflecting our growing employer brand and reputation in the market.

You will also:

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment across a broad range of operational and corporate roles (plumbers, meter techs, schedulers, contract managers etc)
  • Manage approx. between 15 – 30 open roles at any given time (volume very much dependent on mobilisation of new contracts/packages)
  • Support workforce mobilisation and ramp-up activities across regions and divisions
  • Build proactive talent pipelines for critical and hard-to-fill roles
  • Partner with leaders on workforce planning, hiring strategy and recruitment market insights
  • Coach hiring managers on recruitment best practice and candidate assessment
  • Support initiatives focused on quality of hire, retention and onboarding outcomes
  • Leverage sourcing tools, talent insights and AI-enabled recruitment technology
  • Drive a positive, engaging and professional candidate experience
  • Support talent-related projects including EVP, employer branding and process improvement initiatives

About You

You are a proactive and adaptable Talent professional who enjoys partnering closely with the business and operating in high-growth environments.

You are responsive, open and honest in your communication and understand the importance of excellent service delivery.

You will ideally bring:

  • Experience recruiting across both blue-collar and white-collar roles (preferably with exposure to a mobilisation environment)
  • Exposure to high-volume and/or hard-to-fill operational recruitment
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capability
  • Experience working in fast-paced, evolving environments
  • A commercially minded and solutions-focused approach
  • Confidence sourcing passive candidates and building talent pipelines
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Experience using ATS/HRIS platforms (Employment Hero advantageous)
  • Proactive and resilient to the ups and downs of recruitment.

Most importantly, you genuinely care about people, candidate experience and building strong teams.

Why Join NPS?

NPS is proud of our culture and values. In 2025, we achieved a 90% employee engagement score, with our people telling us they stay because of the supportive teams they work with and the strong sense of connection across the business.

We value our people and celebrate them often — through our Employee of the Month awards, regular newsletter shout-outs, and toolbox talks that bring our field teams together (yes, with breakfast provided!).

Our goal is to make sure every team member feels supported, connected and safe. You will join a team who genuinely cares about each other and supports each other.

We lead with high trust and autonomy but provide the guidance, direction and support along the way.

Your work will be recognised and appreciated at all levels of the organisation. You will be able to add value and have a huge amount of impact on shaping NPS into the future.

What else?

  • Join a fast-growing national organisation with genuine career growth opportunities
  • Be part of a collaborative and down-to-earth culture
  • Work closely with operational leaders and influence real business outcomes
  • Opportunity to help shape recruitment, workforce planning and talent initiatives as the business scales
  • Northcote office location with flexibility (hybrid and hours) and autonomy
  • Supportive leadership team that values ideas, initiative and continuous improvement
