About the role:
We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Hand to join our team. In this hands-on role,
you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of plant and equipment, ensuring all assets are prepared and ready for use. You’ll also assist with cleaning, and maintaining plant and equipment, as well as general yard housekeeping to keep our facilities safe, organised, and operating efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely load and unload plant and equipment entering and leaving the yard.
- Clean, detail, and prepare plant and equipment to ensure they are maintained to a high standard.
- Carry out general yard housekeeping and maintain yard facilities in line with company
standards.
- Identify, manage, and report workplace health, safety, and environmental hazards.
- Maintain workshop and yard cleanliness, tidiness, and litter control.
- Complete inspection, testing, safety, delivery, and purchasing documentation accurately
and on time.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and positively represent the NPE brand.
- Support he wider team with general yard, workshop, and operational tasks as required.
- Undertake other duties as directed by your supervisor from time to time.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Current, valid Driver’s Licence.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, show initiative, and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
- Reliable, hardworking, and willing to get hands-on in a busy yard environment.
- Forklift Licence (LF) and proven forklift operating experience.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a workshop, yard, or plant equipment environment.
- Rigging & Dogging Licence (DG/RG).
- Experience loading, unloading, and handling mobile plant and equipment.
- Basic maintenance, painting, or equipment detailing experience.
