About the role:
To construct, assemble, maintain and repair NPE owned plant and equipment and deliver exceptional customer service to champion the NPE brand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out fabrication of pipework, pump bases and all other facets required for plant and equipment range
- Mark off and fabricates structural steel and
- other metal stock to make or repair metal products and structures
- Study blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
- Select, clean and prepare metal stocks
- Cut marked out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
- Shape and bend metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
- Align parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instrument
- Join metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
- Examine welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
- Finish products by cleaning, polishing, fixing and bathing in acidic solutions
- Clean and smooth welds by filing, chiselling and grinding
- Ensure timely completion for all inspection, testing, safety, delivery and purchasing paperwork is completed in full
- Assist with installs, servicing and repairs in the field as required
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Relevant Trade Certificate
- Current ‘C’ class Driver’s Licence
- Demonstrated experience in fabrication of pipework, pump associated equipment (or similar transferrable experience)
- Proven experience with dewatering pumps, compressors and generators
- Experience in assessing and scoping required repairs & parts
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Patient, flexible and adaptable to changing and challenging circumstances with great problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management and an ability to juggle multiple competing priorities
- Ability to work well with other team members and champion the NPE brand
- Ability to work with flexibility and initiative with limited direction or supervision
Desirable:
- Experience in the Rental, Mining,
Construction or Heavy industries would be advantageous
- High Risk Licence (LF, CN/CV, WAH)
- Working at Heights
