Love numbers and music? This one’s for you.
We’re on the lookout for a Revenue & Rights Coordinator to join Mushroom Music’s Recording Division. This is a hands-on, detail-driven role that sits right at the intersection of finance and the creative industries. If you’re coming from a junior finance or accounts background and are keen to build your career inside music, this is a rare opportunity to do exactly that.
This role is split across two key areas: Revenue (the core focus of the position) and Rights, supporting the digital release process and music supply chain.
Important to note: this is a finance + music role, not a traditional finance department position. While you’ll work closely with finance systems and revenue data, the role sits within Mushroom Music’s Recording Division, embedded in the day-to-day operations of a label environment.
What you’ll be doing
Revenue (core focus of the role)
You’ll own the end-to-end processing of incoming revenue for Mushroom Music, making sure sales data is accurate, timely and reconciled — and that artists get paid correctly.
This includes:
- Invoicing all incoming income through SAP, ensuring correct coding and tax treatment.
- Processing, cleaning and loading sales statements into our royalty system (ReMa).
- Tracking statements and following up with DSPs, licensees and distribution partners.
- Maintaining accurate, up-to-date sales data across systems.
- Supporting month-end and quarter-end reconciliations alongside the Royalty Manager and Finance team.
Revenue is the backbone of this role, and where you’ll spend the majority of your time.
Rights & Digital Supply Chain
You’ll also support the delivery of Mushroom Music’s digital releases, working closely with the Digital Production Manager.
This includes:
- Supporting digital releases to DSPs via Audiosalad and Virgin Music.
- Loading label copy and metadata accurately into the royalty system.
- Managing public performance registrations with global collecting societies.
- Helping ensure the digital supply chain runs smoothly and on schedule.
You’ll also provide administrative and operational support to the Royalties & Analytics team, work closely with internal teams, artists, managers and external partners, contribute to projects that improve systems and processes, and pitch in where needed to ensure the smooth running of the department.
About you
- You come from a junior finance, accounts or data-focused role.
- You’re highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable working with numbers and systems.
- You’re curious about music and excited to work inside the creative industries.
- You enjoy process, accuracy and seeing things through end to end.
- You’re keen to learn, grow and take ownership of your work.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the structure of finance work but wants to apply those skills in a music business context, learning how revenue, rights and digital releases actually work inside a label.
Why this role?
- Exposure to royalties, rights, digital distribution and label operations.
- A collaborative, supportive team environment.
- Clear responsibility and ownership.
- Inclusive, fun and down to earth culture
Sound like a bit of you? We’d love to hear from you with your resume and cover letter.
TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE, YOU MUST HAVE CURRENT WORK RIGHTS TO ACCEPT A PERMANENT ROLE IN AUSTRALIA (NOT REQUIRING SPONSORSHIP).
