Renowned for excellence, safety and long‑standing client relationships, Murphy Builders continues to grow. Due to an expanding pipeline of commercial construction projects, we are seeking an experienced Leading Hand to join our team and work alongside our Site Managers.

About the Role

As a Leading Hand, you will be a key contributor to the successful delivery of our projects, responsible for:

• Coordinating and supervising day‑to‑day construction activities onsite
• Assisting the Site Manager with programming and sequencing of works
• Implementing and monitoring construction schedules
• Reporting on progress, productivity and quality
• Ensuring works comply with drawings, specifications and standards
• Liaising with subcontractors and coordinating trades
• Ensuring WHS requirements are strictly adhered to
• Undertaking carpentry and rectification works as required
• Ensuring client expectations are met and feedback is actioned

About You

You will bring:

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a Leading Hand role within commercial construction (QLD)
• Certificate III in Carpentry (essential)
• QBCC Contractor Licence or willingness to obtain a Site Supervisor Licence (desirable)
• Strong understanding of QLD construction legislation, standards and codes
• Proven ability to work with clients, consultants and project teams
• Sound knowledge of WHS and quality assurance systems
• Willingness to work on regional projects
• Manual driver’s licence
• Strong work ethic, professionalism and commitment to risk management
• Stable employment history
