We have opportunities across both Residential Care (Out of Home Care – DFFH) and Disability Services (Programs, SIL, Total Care Packages and 1:1 supports). About Mpower
Mpower is a well-established, accredited not-for-profit community-based organisation servicing South West Victoria. Established in 1975, the operation of Mpower has grown from a small voluntary service to an accredited agency employing more than 100 staff, providing a range of clinical and support services to over 1400 families regionally. Mpower now provides a range of disability services and community services and we specialising in supporting children, young people and families reaching their full potential.
About the Role
As a Support Worker, you’ll play a key role in delivering safe, consistent, trauma-informed, and person-centred support.
Depending on the service, this may include:
- Supporting children and young people in residential care settings
- Providing disability support across SIL, programs, community access and 1:1 supports
- Assisting with daily living tasks, routines and skill development
- Building strong, respectful relationships
- Responding to behaviours of concern using trauma-informed approaches
- Supporting participation in education, community and social activities
- Completing accurate documentation and case notes
- Working across a 24/7 roster (including evenings, weekends, sleepovers and active nights)
This is a hands-on role that requires confidence, adaptability and a genuine commitment to supporting others.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking applicants who are:
- Passionate about working with children, young people, and people with disability
- Confident working in challenging and high-support environments
- Strong knowledge of trauma‑informed practice and person-centred care, especially to young people with disabilities
- Able to remain calm, consistent, and professional under pressure
- Strong communicators who work well in a team
Highly regarded:
- Cert IV Child, Youth & Family Intervention, or willing to enroll
- Experience in residential care, youth work, or OOHC settings
- Cert III Individual Support or Cert IV Disability Supports
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice and behaviours of concern
