Settlement Case Worker – Community Outreach

Tamworth Region | Part-Time | SCHADS Level 4

Do you enjoy working directly with people, building community connections and supporting multicultural communities to thrive?

Mosaic Multicultural Connections is seeking a proactive and community-minded Settlement Case Worker – Community Outreach to support newly arrived individuals and families across the Tamworth region.

This is a hands-on community role focused on:

  • settlement support
  • outreach and engagement
  • advocacy and referrals
  • building community connections
  • supporting vulnerable community members

This is not a desk-based role. We are looking for someone who enjoys being out in the community, building relationships and connecting people with support and opportunities.

About the Role

Working as part of the Settlement, Families and Communities team, you will:

  • provide culturally responsive casework support
  • assist individuals and families to access services and supports
  • attend community events and outreach activities
  • build referral pathways with local agencies and services
  • engage proactively with vulnerable and newly arrived community members
  • support clients to build independence and community connection
  • maintain accurate case notes and documentation

A Typical Week Might Include

  • meeting with newly arrived families
  • attending local community events
  • helping clients navigate services and appointments
  • connecting with local employers, agencies and community groups
  • supporting workshops and group activities
  • advocating for clients and linking them with supports

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities
  • Experience in community services, settlement support, outreach, casework or community engagement
  • Understanding of strengths-based and trauma-informed practice
  • Current driver licence and own registered and insured vehicle
  • Working With Children Check and National Criminal History Check

Desirable

  • Qualification in community services, social work, human services or related field
  • Experience delivering community programs or group activities
  • Multilingual capability
