Bilingual Community Support Worker

HARVEST New England Program | Armidale Region

We are seeking motivated and community-minded Bilingual Community Support Workers to support the delivery of the HARVEST Armidale Programs:

 

  • 1 Ezidi Bilingual Support Worker
  • 1 Swahili Bilingual Support Worker

 

These roles are ideal for people who enjoy working directly with communities, building strong relationships, and supporting participants to engage in employment, training and community activities.

 

About the Role

 

Working closely with the Harvest Project Coordinator and Settlement and Communities team, you will:

  • Support participants from multicultural and refugee backgrounds
  • Assist with workshops, group activities and community events
  • Provide practical bilingual support and culturally responsive engagement
  • Encourage participation in employment and training pathways
  • Build relationships with community members and local stakeholders
  • Promote Mosaic programs and services within the community
  • Assist with participant follow-up, referrals and engagement activities
  • Complete program documentation and administrative tasks

This is a hands-on community role involving outreach, participant engagement and supporting inclusive community participation.

  • Is passionate about supporting social inclusion and employment outcomes

 

Essential Requirements

 

  • Experience working with multicultural, refugee or migrant communities
  • Ability to speak a community language relevant to the local community, with a preference for Ezidi and Congolese languages
  • Current Driver Licence
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • Working With Children Check
  • National Criminal Record Check
  • Eligibility to work in Australia

 

Desirable

 

  • Experience in community services, settlement or employment programs
  • Experience facilitating community activities or workshops
  • Qualification in Community Services or related field
  • First Aid Certificate
