The Opportunity

The Business Development Associate plays a pivotal role in building and strengthening relationships with Mortgage Managers while driving the growth of quality lending opportunities through the Third-Party Channel. This position combines strategic business development with hands-on relationship management to enhance the company’s distribution network and deliver superior service to partners.

Reporting to the 3rd Party Distribution Manager, this role is responsible for originating new business, representing the brand externally, and being a proactive partner to Mortgage Managers. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of non-bank lending, credit structures, and broker networks. This role sits within a high-performing, agile team and will require a customer-first mindset, strong commercial acumen, and a passion for building trusted, long-term relationships.


Key Responsibilities

3rd Party Distribution Channel Growth and Relationship Management

  • Identify, engage, and manage strong relationships with Mortgage Managers to grow the third-party distribution channel.
  • Drive loan volume through proactive outreach, networking, and relationship management initiatives.
  • Tailor product solutions to meet the specific needs of third-party clients and maintain a consultative sales approach.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and coaching to Mortgage Managers to improve deal quality and submission accuracy.
  • Collaborate with credit and operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery from submission through to settlement.
  • Represent the brand at industry events, professional development days, and other networking opportunities.
  • Deliver feedback from the market to help shape and improve internal systems, processes, and product offerings.
  • Support the development of new processes to better align with the needs of the third-party channel.
  • Provide ongoing insights to the Marketing, Credit, and Pricing teams to improve turnaround times and customer outcomes.

About You

  • Proven experience as a BDM Associate or Relationship Manager within non-bank or specialist lending.
  • Demonstrated success in originating and writing home loans.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage lending credit principles, deal structures, and broker distribution models.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine passion for building relationships.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-performing environment.
  • High level of organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), CRM systems, and presentation tools.
  • Exposure to marketing initiatives or social media strategy (desirable).
