This is a unique opportunity to invest in the lives of students, supporting their academic, spiritual, and professional formation as they prepare for impactful roles in ministry, chaplaincy, and spiritual care.

We are seeking a part-time Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care Lecturer (1 day/week) based at our Perth campus.

As a Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care Lecturer, you will:

  • Teach and support student growth by delivering lectures, preparing learning materials, and investing in the academic, spiritual, and professional formation of students in Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care.
  • Participate in ongoing research, writing, and professional development in your field, in alignment with MC policy.
  • Participate in the MC community on-site through meetings, chapel, and campus events, as required.
  • This role is part-time (1 day/week).
  • Remuneration: Above award salary for Academic Teacher classification, Educational Services (Post-Secondary Education) Award.

Essential Attributes (please respond to these attributes in your Cover Letter):

  • Academic Qualifications to teach at required AQF levels.
  • Current Professional Association Membership Certificate e.g. ACA, PACFA, CCAA, Spiritual Care Australia.
  • A minimum of 7 years relevant and current professional experience as a chaplain, with at least 3 of those years at senior level.
  • Valid Working with Children’s Check.
  • Demonstrated experience in teaching within a Higher Education institution.
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Willingness to embrace a culture of shared evangelical conviction and gracious, respectful disagreement on other matters.
  • Demonstrated Christian character and involvement in a local evangelical church.
  • Alignment of personal values, beliefs and practices with the mission, Staff Code (https://tinyurl.com/mcstaffcode), and Christian ethos of Morling College.

Desirable Attributes

  • Masters-level qualification in Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care, Counselling or related discipline.
  • Additional qualifications and clinical experience in Counselling will be highly regarded.
