Legal Counsel

The Opportunity

Morgans is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our Brisbane team, providing trusted legal advice to the Board, executives and senior management across a broad range of commercial and regulatory matters.

What you will be doing

In this role, you will:

• Advise on legal, regulatory and commercial matters, including financial services regulation and ASIC/ASX obligations
• Manage complaints, claims and disputes, liaising with advisers, clients, insurers and external lawyers
• Draft, review and advise on contracts and commercial arrangements
• Provide guidance on privacy obligations and company policy development
• Support the Company Secretary with governance documentation and Board papers

What you will bring

You are a capable and commercially minded legal professional who brings:

• Admission as a solicitor in an Australian jurisdiction
• Experience in private practice and/or an in-house legal role, ideally in financial service
• Strong knowledge of financial services regulation and key legislative frameworks including ASIC and AS
• Experience with complaints handling and external dispute resolution
• Clear, practical drafting and communication skills for senior stakeholders
