The Role:

To work as a Mechanical Apprentice, providing support to a variety of mechanical tasks, specifically in the assembly, fabrication, and maintenance of Minetek’s primary product range.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the assembly, fabrication, and installation of mechanical components, machinery, and equipment
  • Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Following instructions and taking direction from skilled Trades on all matters related to the Apprentice learning and development program
  • Interacting harmoniously within the team, offering support where needed and contributing to a positive work culture and environment
  • Seeking opportunities for greater exposure to learn skills and develop knowledge for practical application
  • Maintaining an awareness of safety requirements in accordance with company policy, whilst identifying potential hazards and working with the business to minimise risks
  • Displaying an ability to retain the information and skills learnt on the job, while putting your increased knowledge to the best possible use
  • Adhering to TAFE NSW task requirements to start and complete a 4-year Apprenticeship course. This includes attending TAFE once a week at the closest campus
  • Communicating information to essential personnel within the business, making Supervisors and HR representatives aware of your progress through the program
  • Developing a knowledge of and keeping up to date with relevant industry and Australian standards
  • General mechanical tasks associated with assembly, fitting, machining, and testing as per business requirements

  • Committed to the requirements of the Apprenticeship program and regular course targets established by TAFE NSW
