Let’s be straight. There’s admin in this job (quotes, CRM, vendor follow-ups, and agreements). This role is the engine room of a sales team and it matters. You’ll sit in the Growth team and report to Paul, the CRO, so you’ll be across every quote, vendor conversation, and client pitch from week one.
But the admin is the start, not the whole story. We want someone who gets the small stuff right because they’re chasing what’s on the other side of it. The deals. The clients. A career that keeps climbing.
Otto is a fast-moving IT Managed Service Provider looking after clients across Australia. Certified Great Place to Work. We run on four values: People First, Committed, Authentic, and No Bullshit.
Maybe you’re selling tech in retail and ready for a bigger career. Maybe you already work at an MSP and want a fun crew in Northcote with a real future in it. Either way, we’ll teach you the trade.
What you’ll actually do
- Own vendor relationships: know our distributors, build real rapport, get clients the sharpest deal going
- Learn how large deal registrations and competitive tenders work: the stuff that locks in pricing and wins serious contracts
- Help build the pitch: proposals, presentations etc.
- Run procurement and process agreements: hardware, software, & renewals
- Move the needle: stakeholder comms, chasing loose ends, keeping things moving
- Handle inbound client and vendor enquiries like a pro
- Keep the CRM honest and the pipeline current
This is you if
- You want to know why a deal got won or lost
- You’re comfortable on the phone with someone you’ve never met
- You move fast, finish what you start, and dropped balls aren’t your style
- You’ve got a couple of years in admin, sales, customer service, or B2B coordination
- Numbers that don’t add up bug you
- Tech experience is a bonus, not a requirement
Probably not you if
- You want a quiet nine-to-five with a low ceiling
- You need supervision to stay on track
- A knock-back keeps you down (in sales you cop a few, and you’ve got to get back up)
What’s in it for you
A clear path into Account Management, Business Development, and beyond. Paid certifications. AI tools you’ll actually use. A team that’s genuinely good to work with. Stocked kitchen, salary sacrificing, volunteer leave, uniform, and more.
One thing about AI
We use it every day and you will too. But it’s a power tool, not a ghostwriter. Write your cover letter yourself, your words, your voice. We can spot AI slop from a mile off, and so can our clients.
A word from our CRO Paul
I want this person to sit beside me, to learn how this business really runs, and to take real work off my plate from week one.
No timesheet, no one hovering. I’ll trust you to do the work and mentor you rather than micromanage you. All I ask: pull your weight, don’t take the piss, and keep the bigger picture in view.
Paul Whiteoak, Chief Revenue Officer, Otto IT
