ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Digital Pattern Maker to be the bridge between creative design concepts and commercial manufacturing reality. You’ll interpret design intent, engineer patterns for manufacturability, lead fit sessions for your designated styles, and resolve complex construction challenges before garments reach the bulk stage. This is a digital CAD pattern making role – all production patterns are developed and maintained digitally in Gerber AccuMark or StyleCAD. You’ll operate with a strong degree of autonomy while collaborating closely with our technical team, playing a key role in maintaining MESHKI’s fit consistency, quality standards and production elevation.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Develop highly accurate first CAD patterns across seasonal ready-to-wear collections, including tailoring, soft dressing and occasion wear.
- Interpret design sketches, reference garments and technical briefs into precise production patterns, using both manual drafting and digital CAD systems.
- Review garment construction methods and recommend pattern solutions that support the original design intent while improving manufacturability and reducing production costs.
- Attend and lead fit sessions for your assigned styles, collaborating with design, product development and quality assurance teams to assess and implement fit changes.
- Amend patterns promptly and accurately following fit sessions to support strict development timelines.
- Maintain exceptional standards of pattern accuracy and garment construction, developing internal structures – such as corsetry, boning or draping support systems – for specialised garments.
- Ensure samples are constructed using fabrications aligned with final production requirements, provide accurate fabric yield estimates, and troubleshoot construction challenges.
- Keep all patterns clearly documented, correctly graded and maintained in an organised filing system and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) database.
- Partner with design and technical teams to support development milestones and sample delivery schedules, providing clear sewing and cutting instructions to offshore factory partners.
- Manage your own workload to meet seasonal development calendars and critical path deadlines, proactively communicating any risks related to timing, fit or technical
- execution.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING
- 5+ years of professional digital pattern making experience within the commercial fashion industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of garment construction, fit principles and grading.
- Proficiency in industry-standard CAD pattern software (such as Gerber AccuMark, Lectra or StyleCAD), alongside competent manual pattern making and draping skills.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed technical specification packs (tech packs) and communicate technical adjustments clearly to offshore manufacturers.
- Diploma or Advanced Diploma of Apparel, Fashion and Textiles, or a Bachelor’s
- Degree in Fashion Design with a strong focus on pattern making and garment construction, highly preferred.
