Description

Graduate Licensing Executive

Build a career with some of the world’s biggest brands.

You’re about to graduate – or perhaps you’ve recently graduated – and you’re looking for more than just another graduate job.

You want a career that challenges you, develops you and gives you real responsibility from day one.

At Merchantwise, that’s exactly what you’ll find.

As Australia’s largest independent brand licensing agency, we represent an exciting portfolio of globally recognised entertainment, gaming and lifestyle brands. Your initial focus will be supporting our Hasbro portfolio, working with iconic brands including Peppa Pig, Monopoly, Transformers, My Little Pony and Dungeons & Dragons, while gaining exposure to our broader portfolio as your career develops.

We’re looking for an outstanding graduate with the ambition and potential to become one of our future Licensing Managers.

You don’t need to know the licensing industry – we’ll teach you that.

What we’re looking for is intelligence, commercial curiosity, exceptional organisational skills and someone who enjoys bringing structure to fast-moving projects. Licensing is a relationship-driven business, but it’s also built on strong administration, attention to detail and keeping multiple stakeholders, products and deadlines on track.

What you’ll be doing

Working alongside an experienced Licensing Manager, you’ll learn every aspect of the licensing business while supporting the day-to-day management of one of the industry’s most exciting brand portfolios.

This role combines commercial exposure with project coordination and administration, giving you a strong foundation for a long-term career in licensing.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the day-to-day administration and coordination of licensing programs.
  • Tracking product development, approvals, key milestones and launch timelines across multiple licensees.
  • Maintaining accurate licensing records, reports, databases and internal systems.
  • Coordinating product approvals and ensuring all documentation is complete and up to date.
  • Preparing commercial presentations, meeting materials, reports and sales analysis.
  • Monitoring sales reporting and assisting with royalty and performance tracking.
  • Following up with licensees and internal stakeholders to ensure actions and deadlines are met.
  • Identifying new product, category and retail opportunities through market and competitor research.
  • Assisting with commercial negotiations and licensing agreements.
  • Building relationships with manufacturers, retailers and brand owners.
  • Attending client meetings, retailer presentations and industry events.

While you’ll gain exposure to the commercial side of the business, success in this role comes from being highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. You’ll play an important role in ensuring licensing programs run smoothly while developing the commercial and relationship management skills needed to become a Licensing Manager.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with the potential to become a future Licensing Manager.

You’ll likely have:

  • A recent degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing or a related discipline.
  • Strong and consistent academic results.
  • Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
  • A genuine commercial mindset and curiosity about brands, retail and consumer products.
  • Confidence working with spreadsheets, reports and business systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional presentation and the confidence to build relationships with clients andbusiness partners.
  • A proactive attitude, resilience and a genuine desire to learn.

Previous internships, casual employment or leadership experience will be viewed favourably, particularly where you’ve demonstrated strong organisation, administration, project coordination or customer service skills. Above all, we’re looking for someone with the right attitude, aptitude and long-term potential.

Why Merchantwise?

This isn’t a role where you’ll spend years waiting for responsibility.

From day one, you’ll be trusted to coordinate key aspects of licensing programs while receiving mentoring from experienced licensing professionals. You’ll work with globally recognised brands, contribute to commercial decisions, support client relationships and develop the operational skills that underpin every successful Licensing Manager.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us. Our goal is to develop the next generation of Licensing Managers, and we’ll invest in the right person to help them get there.

If you’re ambitious, commercially minded, highly organised and excited by the opportunity to build a career managing some of the world’s biggest brands, we’d love to hear from you.
