Accounts Officer

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to join our finance team, primarily supporting our Media and Marketing agencies. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of accounts payable, accounts receivable and finance administration processes, while partnering with stakeholders across a fast-paced agency environment.
THE ROLE
As the Accounts Officer, you will support the Finance Manager and wider finance function, primarily across the Media and Marketing agencies, with a strong focus on accounts payable, accounts receivable and finance administration.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing supplier invoices and managing accounts payable queries
- Raising client invoices and following up outstanding receivables
- Managing contractor onboarding and payment processes
- Supporting contractor, talent and influencer payment administration, including statutory obligations and compliance requirements
- Reviewing GST treatment and supporting finance compliance activities
- Performing bank reconciliations
- Processing expense claims and corporate card transactions
- Assisting with month-end close activities
- Preparing and maintaining finance reports and reconciliations
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting audit requirements
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies across financial and operational systems
- Responding to finance queries from internal stakeholders across the agencies
- Assisting with ad hoc finance projects and administrative tasks as required
ABOUT YOU
You will ideally bring:
- 3–5 years’ experience in an Accounts Officer, Finance Officer or similar role
- Strong end-to-end experience across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and general finance administration
- Proven ability to work autonomously, take ownership of responsibilities and manage competing priorities with minimal supervision
- Strong understanding of GST requirements and financial compliance processes
- Experience managing contractor payments, superannuation obligations and talent/influencer engagements is highly desirable
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to prepare reconciliations, analyse data and produce reports
- Experience working across ERP systems, banking platforms and multiple business systems
- Strong investigative and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Confident communication skills with internal stakeholders, suppliers and contractors
- A proactive and dependable working style with a willingness to contribute across the broader finance function
- Experience within a digital marketing, media, advertising, creative agency or professional services environment will be highly regarded
