Description

An exciting opportunity for a technically strong Financial Accountant wanting to gain broad exposure in a regulated financial services environment and play a key role in delivering accurate financial, statutory and tax reporting across a national organisation.

Reporting to the Statutory Reporting Lead, you will be responsible for preparing financial and statutory accounts, supporting tax compliance obligations, contributing to APRA reporting and assisting with capital investment accounting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare month-end journals, balance sheet reconciliations and financial reports.
  • Support the preparation of statutory accounts and regulatory reporting obligations.
  • Assist with APRA returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Prepare BAS, GST, FBT and other tax-related returns for review and lodgement.
  • Support capital investment accounting, analysis and reporting.
  • Assist with cash flow and liquidity reporting and monitoring.
  • Maintain strong financial controls, policies and governance frameworks.
  • Support audit requirements and regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to provide high-quality financial advice and support.

About You

You are a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality outcomes.

You will bring:

  • Experience in financial and statutory accounting.
  • Exposure to tax reporting, including GST/BAS and FBT.
  • Strong month-end, reconciliation and financial reporting capability.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong financial systems experience.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and\ communication skills.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or Business.
  • Progress toward, or completion of CA or CPA qualifications.
